Mint Molars

October 8th, 2008

Graham had his first dentist’s appointment this week.  He not only did a great job cooperating with the dentist and hygienists, but he received a perfect report card for oral health.  We work hard on Graham’s brushing and flossing, so we were relieved to know that all is well.  Even his x-rays revealed that Graham’s teeth are all developing perfectly with no issues.

My sister and I both ended up having small jaw structure, causing us to have several teeth pulled in our early adolescent years, as well as having our wisdom teeth removed.  It’s too early to tell about that with Graham, but for now we’re elated that his teeth are in good shape.

BAC Taco?

September 25th, 2008

We’ve recently started trying harder to give Graham the same food we’re eating at mealtime.  Last night we fixed chicken soft tacos, and Kristi asked Graham if he’d like one. He said yes, which was a surprise.

But Graham asked specifically for a banana, apple, and cheese taco!  Hey, whatever, as long as he eats what he asks for, right?  The good news is he did eat it all; he even picked it up like a regular taco (at least for a few bites).

First day of preschool pictures

September 16th, 2008

Graham started attending 4 days per week preschool at our church, right before his 4th birthday.  He was a little unhappy about this prospect at first, but as you can see in some pictures Mommy took, he warmed up to the idea.  We’re very fortunate that he has several buddies from last year’s class in with him.  He’s already started making new friends!

These pictures are from September 4th.

Happy Birthday Graham

September 12th, 2008

We can hardly believe that our little baby is now 4 years old!  Graham’s having an ice cream birthday party tomorrow with all his friends.  He’s going to preschool four days per week now, and is growing up too fast for our liking…  Check out some pictures from his ice cream party in our backyard.
Happy birthday, little guy!

Awesome 4th of July Weekend

July 9th, 2008

We had a fun family weekend at home over the Independence Day weekend.  Thursday afternoon, Kristi and the boys went to the farmer’s market, and got lots of great veggies and fresh fruit for us.  Then we went out for dinner and ice cream!  Since I didn’t have work on Friday, we just hung out at the house and ran a few errands, but then we took Graham and Reid to see the new Disney movie WALL-E.  It was their first time at the movie theater, and they had a blast!

Afterward we just grabbed dinner at Chick-fil-A since it’s right there next to the theater.  Sadly due to the rainy evening we didn’t get to experience any fireworks, but that was okay since the guys could only concentrate on WALL-E!

Saturday, Graham and I got up and went out to grab donuts and coffee for breakfast, which was cool.  We mainly just hung around the house in the morning, but then we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the pool for the rest of the day.  We hung out until well after naptime, and then came home and cooked baby back ribs and fresh corn for dinner.  Graham even had a small ear of corn.

Sunday we really did lay low, basking the glow of all the fun we’d already had.  We took some pictures of the baby birds living in our yard this summer.  Then as a special surprise, we took the boys to a baseball game in the late afternoon!  We have a triple A team the next town over, and it’s great to head to the ballpark for an afternoon game.  Our team started out slowly, but we got to see a home run and several nice hits.

Take me out to the ballgame!

This was another first for the kids.  We really had fun although it was super-humid.  Graham loved seeing the mascot Wool E. Bull, the games that were played between innings, and of course he had a thousand questions about the game and what was going on.  Be sure to check out all our pictures from the game.

We thankfully got seats under the covered area behind home plate, because it started pouring rain in the middle of the 6th inning.  That was okay, because it was bedtime about then anyway.  We bought a new hat for Graham, and we headed home and got to bed!

Big-time family fun weekend!
