Well it makes sense…

I should’ve started this a long time ago. Graham says some really funny things, as do all toddlers and young kids. However, some of them require you to think about what the child must be thinking. Anyway, Graham has a book about nighttime animals. There’s a picture of a bat in a cave, sleeping upside down hanging from the top of the cave.

So we went into Reid’s room to watch him sleeping in the crib, and Reid’s head was in the opposite direction from how Graham used to sleep in there. So when Graham saw this, he said:

“Daddy! Reid is sleeping just like a bat!”

Took me awhile to figure out where he got that one…

Welcome, Baby Reid!

The big day has arrived! Our newest addition to the family, Preston Reid (to be called Reid) was born on 12/13/2007 at 2:14AM. He was 7lbs., 11oz. and is 20″ long. Big brother Graham is so excited about the new arrival!

And it was a very different journey from Graham’s arrival. We waited and waited at home until Kristi’s contractions came close to 5 minutes apart; but when we got to the hospital the nurse checked her out and proclaimed that we were ready to deliver! So she wasn’t able to take advantage of the epidural at all; it was 100% natural (to Kristi’s dismay)!

Even so, things went very well and Kristi was not engaged for very long after we arrived. Just an hour later, little Reid arrived! We got a ton of pictures, of course. Check them out!

Kristi had her 39th week doctor’s appointment today, and she’s dilated at 3cm! That means it may not be too much longer now…

So what happened?

December 12th, 2007

Well, I’m ashamed to admit that I accidentally deleted some critical files from our Web server while playing around with some new tools.  As a result, all our blog posts have been deleted.  Oh, I have an archive of all that stuff, but there’s no slick way to import it.

As a result, I’m not going to try.  We’ll just begin again new.  This year marks the 10th anniversary of our Web site, so it’s a great milestone to begin anew.  And, of course, we’re having a new baby any day now.  Graham is psyched to be a big brother; Mommy and Daddy are excited as well.  The house and nursery are all ready for baby brother’s arrival, and Graham is sleeping in his new big boy room and bed.

We’ll post some news (and pictures) here when we’re ready to report his arrival home.  Until then, thanks for visiting the newest flavor of our site.
